The true measure of a civilization is how it cares for its elderly, not how it discards them.
India, the world’s second most populous nation, has seen a significant increase in its elderly population. From 12.1 million in 1901 to over 100 million in 2015, the number of seniors continues to rise, with projections estimating 198 million elderly by 2030. Despite longer life expectancies, many elderly face severe challenges, including abuse and neglect. Shockingly, 40% of seniors living with their families report some form of abuse, with many being forced out of their homes.
